myCharity: Water

President Mark Schwietz’s myCharity: water page. Donate today!

On November 7 I am going to be running 26.2 miles along with 10’s of thousands of others in the ING NY Marathon. For the first time ever, CrowdRise is making it possible for runners and supporters alike to contribute towards their favorite charity. I chose Charity: Water

Most of us have no idea what its like to be thirsty. Imagine if you had no clean water. Imagine sweating and straining to haul contaminated water back to your family. In longer than it will take me to run the marathon, 100’s of thousands of women and children will be doing just that. Walking some 15-20 miles for water. The my charity water page is an opportunity for you and I to get involved assisting in providing clean drinking water to the nearly 1 billion people in need.

I recently learned that 80% of all diseases in the world are caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Together, we’ve got an incredible opportunity to provide clean water for those in need. Charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects.

My goal is to raise $5,000 because that is the average cost of one well and we have less than a month to get this done. This will provide clean water for 250 people for 20 years!

Would you please join me in this worthy effort? Giving $26, a buck a mile, can provide enough water for a person for 20 years. Give $5/mile or more. Lets get this done.

Thank you!

PS While you are at it, stop by and give something to my friend Misty.

PSS Spend some time on the Charity: Water website and learn the facts. If you are called, put together your own site page.

PSSS UPDATE: Last year you helped MBC and myself raise money for @CharityWater. Here is where it went: #ThankYou
